The role

As a Finance Business Analyst, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Sitting within Finance Business Services, the Finance Systems team own and maintain a suite of finance systems and are responsible for delivering improvements to finance processes and managing a change programme for finance systems.

 

Day to day, you’ll be responsible for delivering reporting and analytical solutions for all related finance systems and platforms and assist improvement activities and process governance.

 

  • You will also be accountable for producing reporting solutions from finance systems and data warehouse data
  • Responsible for the standardisation of finance systems data definition and matrix calculations
  • Provide insight and data visualisation to measure and improve the Finance Business Services performance
  • Work with finance colleagues to understand existing Excel based models and provide recommendations for efficiency and improvements

 

This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week, and will be contractually based at our Portsmouth site with fully remote / working from home options.

Essential experience of the Finance Business Analyst

  • Strong data analysis, modelling and interpretation background
  • Track record of working with financial data
  • Advanced Excel skills including VBA Experience of using data programming languages i.e. SQL (essential) or Python (desirable)
  • Excellent knowledge of data visualisation tools such as Power BI or QlikView
  • Knowledge of Finance Systems e.g. SAP or IFS (desirable not essential)

 

Please note that this position is subject to national security vetting. The successful candidate must be able to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements (this will include obtaining SC level of security clearance).
