Here at Babcock International we’re looking to recruit a proven Project Planner to provide expert guidance across deliverables including co-ordinating, evaluating, prioritising and reporting on the project portfolio and assisting the Project Managers to deliver the Project plan on time, in budget and within the allocated resource, ultimately meeting customer requirements.

You will ensure that the work flow of the project is maintained in the most efficient manner to meet schedule, match the capacity and capability to prioritised demand and make effective use of available resources to deliver departmental objectives.

You will be responsible for providing and explaining a management tool for estimating project activity times, sequencing those activities to optimise the guidance of a project through its life span from concept to implementation, and using appropriate software and related techniques to do so.

As well as working on some of the most high-profile projects in the UK we also offer a supportive work environment where innovation is at the heart of what we do.

Although this role is working with the defence industry we welcome applications from candidates from all industries.

What do I need to do the role?

You’ll need to have extensive experience in a planning position and have the ability to thrive within a fast paced environment.

Would also like you to have experience in all or some of these areas:

  • You will have a demonstrable track record and experience of Primavera P6 evidenced with extensive experience of planning, data control, data management, performance management and analysis of the project plan.
  • Have a commercial mind set. You will be highly IT literate with advanced experience in the use of excel, data manipulation, reporting and the creation of dashboards.
  • You will be adept in communicating with key stakeholders, have a good working knowledge of project controls and project management principles and hold previous line management experience.

What else do I need to know?

This role is based at HM Naval Base Clyde, located 6 miles north of Helensburgh in the West of Scotland. We are well placed for commuter links to Glasgow and the wider region, with easy access for car and public transport.

We are happy to talk about flexible working.  Please ask about alternative patterns of work at interview.
