The Regional Desktop Support Analyst role is based within our Babcock Corporate Services (BCS) business unit

 

Babcock Corporate Services (BCS) is a global function, with our largest site being Lakeside in Portsmouth, but we operate from multiple sites around the world.  BCS supplies and operates all IT, security, procurement, and finance Shared Services.  We are embedded alongside the operations that we serve, enabling us to maintain close working relationships that support delivery to our customers. We drive standardisation, simplification and automation across Babcock, to help generate sustainable value for the group and our external customers

 

The role

 

The difference our new Regional Desktop Support Analyst will make

 

As a Regional Desktop Support Analyst, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will provide 2nd line support to employees at Clyde naval base in Faslane, with occasional travel to our other sites in Hamilton and Rosyth.

 

Day to day, you’ll interpret customer requirements and resolve technical issues, escalating difficult tickets. You will troubleshoot Microsoft applications, printer faults and operating systems.

This role provides hybrid working – you will be expected to be in the office 3 days per week and will be working from home the rest of the time. You will also be on call for 1 week out of every month, for which you will be paid extra. 

 

Essential experience

 

  • Experience in 1st or 2nd line support (MS apps, printer faults and operating systems)
  • Driving Licence 
  • Knowledge of Office 365, ITIL and MDM desirable 
  • Ability to obtain ‘SC’ security clearance
