Clyde

The Graduate Project Manager roles are based within our Infrastructure Development business area.

 

As the Ministry of Defence’s commercial partner at HMNB Clyde, Babcock provides specialist engineering support services, including the management of infrastructure and nuclear facilities. We also deliver operational maintenance, upgrades and repairs to support Royal Navy vessels, including the Vanguard and Astute-Class nuclear submarines.  

 

The role

The difference our new Graduate Project Manager will make:

As a Graduate Project Manager in our Infrastructure Development business, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. The Infrastructure Development business is accountable for delivery of our allocated part of the infrastructure programme.  This consists of managing a large number of construction and engineering projects, with both high value and significant degree of complexity.   You will be offered training and development on the full project lifecycle and when qualified as a Project Manager you will take projects from Concept Phase, through Definition, to Implementation and Handover delivering projects to time, cost, and quality.

 

Day to day, you’ll be supported and development to deliver projects end to end from conceptual design through to Project Handover stages. These workstreams will focus on developing and improving the Infrastructure and Facilities at HMNB Clyde. Initially working within then leading integrated project teams and managing sub contractor output.

Essential experience

•    We are looking to speak with graduates in Construction Management, Building Surveying, Project Management or similar construction related degrees.
•    Must be good at working effectively as an individual or in teams; flexibly and resourcefully.
•    Ability to quickly learn, understand and implement project management processes 
•    Experience and familiarisation of modern Project Management Methodologies e.g. Prince2, APM, PMI would be beneficial - but full training will be given in APM project management
•    Experience and familiarisation of Project Management toolsets e.g. MS Project
•    Must be eligible to gain and maintain UK SC level security clearance
