About the role


Here at Babcock International, we operate a significant outsourced contract for the provision of education and training services to the Royal Navy. The training services comprise of naval technical and tactical training and education, delivered by Babcock Instructors as well as training support (e.g. training planning, equipment support, routine maintenance, training design and media development). The contract is entering an exciting new phase with renewed focus on training innovation, optimisation and collaborative working.


We are looking for two Media Developer to join the team at HMS Collingwood in Fareham. You will be responsible for taking design briefs from customers and producing fit for purpose eLearning content through storyboard development that is delivered to project timelines, resources and budget. The Identification and implementation of best practice in all areas of media web development for eLearning projects and lessons. Including Rapid Authoring, Gaming, simulations/animations and mobile learning content.  Maintaining and adhering to internal quality processes, asset management of electronic files, admin systems and document management control. Ensuring compliance with MoD & Babcock regulations and procedures.


Main Responsibilities:


  • Create Media for e-Learning development
  • Production of 3D modelling for multimedia creation
  • Through life support of legacy media created with Storyline and Captivate software
  • Editing of audio and video files
  • Working in Rapid Authoring tools for classroom and online mobile content.
  • Carries out and assists in the production and finishing of large format graphics, lamination and vinyl’s.


What do I need to do the role?


You will need an HNC (or higher) or 5 years relevant experience in the Media Development industry for eLearning


Would also like you to have experience in all or some of these areas:

  • Proven experience of using a range of media development software, for example: Autodesk 3D Max, Storyline or Captivate, Adobe Creative Suite, Premiere, Microsoft Office and Blender
  • Proven experience of simulated & animated scenes/scenarios 
  • Proven experience of building poly and low models, textures and renders for mobile output
  • Proven experience of Rapid Authoring tools


You will have a strong portfolio of creative skills across multiple software types so you can support our core activities.


What else do I need to know?
