About the role

As a Commercial & Supply Chain Assistant within our Marine Training business you’ll be supporting us as we deliver world-class training both UK and Internationally. With over 800,000 training days delivered so far we equip people to operate and support the most complex marine platforms, logistics and equipment - using our collaborative, customer centric approach.

Working in a small Commercial & Supply Chain team, you will play an integral role in supporting the delivery of a Commercial and Supply Chain service to the Marine Training business. As a Commercial and Supply Chain Assistant you will work closely with Commercial & Supply Chain and Finance colleagues in support of the customer facing contract delivery teams.

The role will require ownership of or support to the following: the provision of appropriate, timely and relevant advice & guidance on both contractual / commercial matters and Supply Chain activities; the organisation of relevant governance activities for proposals; the processing of contract amendments; undertaking various Supply Chain activities such as Due Diligence, placing orders, resolving billing queries, etc.; assessing relevance and performance of KPIs; ensuring accuracy of invoicing against sales orders (taken and placed).

What do I need to do the role?

You’ll need experience in Contract Administration

Would also like you to have experience in all or some of these areas:

  • Education to HNC standard or a legal/CIPS/IACCM qualification.  A comprehensive body of experience may be acceptable;
  • Able to proactively source & process data, identify & act as necessary on identified trends, monitoring progress against agreed objectives;
  • Computer literate;
  • An understanding of MoD and/or commercial based contractual Terms and Conditions or an ability to quickly acquire this understanding;
  • Demonstrably good planning, organisational and administration skills with ability to work on own initiative;
  • Good communication and negotiation skills.
