Driver Trainer
Location – East London

About the role
The Babcock / London Fire Brigade (LFB) Training Partnership provides a range of training and development programmes covering all staff, using  a variety of training mediums for all competency areas. This role is fundamental in managing the maintenance, compliance and assurance of the design delivery through the engagement of internal and external stakeholders to support the organisational needs of Babcock and LFB.


This position will be based at Beckton Training Centre in East London.


Purpose of role
The Driver Trainer will be responsible for effective and professional delivery of the Transport Training programme. They will also be responsible for driving a culture of excellence within the team and respect that reflects the aims and values of Babcock International and the LFB partnership.


Main tasks:

• Ensure the effective delivery of Transport Training in accordance with the Training Delivery Programme
• Complete appropriate competency records and paperwork for LFB staff attending transport training courses
• Ensure a safe system of work is maintained throughout effective training delivery
• Provide Subject Matter Expertise with regard to future development of Transport training for emergency services.
What do I need to do the role?


• Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) (essential)
• Cat B and C Driving Licence held for a minimum of 3 years (essential)
• PTTLS, AET or equivalent teaching qualification (desirable)
• ROSPA Gold Emergency Response Driving Instructor (desirable)
• BTEC Level 3 Police Class 1 Driving Instructor (desirable)
• IOSH Health and Safety (desirable)
• FLT Operator / Instructor (desirable)
• Aerial Operator / Instructor (desirable)


Company/Industry Knowledge
 • A thorough understanding of the Babcock / LFB Partnership
• An understanding of the current standards used within Emergency Response Driver Training
• An understanding of the proposed Section 19 legislation
