The role
As a Site Control Room Operator, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be providing 24/7/365 staffing of the Site Control Room.
Day to day, you’ll be monitoring CCTV and the security of the site via the control room.
Other responsibilities include:
- Monitor, check and report defects
- Monitor and respond to site security, emergency and compliance monitoring and alarm systems
- Monitor CCTV and manage access control through secure lines in accordance with standard procedures.
- Liaise with Urenco or Babcock Operations, Maintenance and Project personnel and associated contractors ensuring work on site monitoring and alarm systems is conducted in accordance with UK Shift Managers authorisations.
- Mobilise the Incident Response Teams, Emergency Monitors and supporting Emergency Role Holders in event of an incident. Assess the most appropriate response in accordance with policy and procedures and using the Joint Decision Model
This role is full time, 33.6 hours per week and is based on site at Capenhurst.
Essential experience of the Site Control Room Operator:
- Demonstrable ability to effectively prioritise and organise tasks in situations when faced with multiple demands and to remain calm under pressure
- Ability to multi task
- Ability to make effective decisions
- Ability to navigate, input data and interrogate Windows based IT systems (generic requirement – specific training will be given on the specific systems used in the role)
- Previous Control room experience within the Emergency Services or Emergency Response would be an advantage
Qualifications for the Site Control Room Operator:

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
