About the role

Here at Babcock International, we’re looking to recruit a Design Airworthiness Engineer.


Babcock Design and Completions conducts in house design, manufacture, installation, test and certification activities for modifications to Civil and Military Aeroplanes and Helicopters including: Major Avionics upgrades, Air Ambulance conversions, Special Mission conversions and Mission Equipment, External Loads and Night Vision Cockpit conversion.
You’ll serve an essential role within the Design Office and will be involved throughout the entire design process; from initial concept, through design and testing, to certification and subsequent in service monitoring. In particular, you will liaise with multiple internal and external parties during the design process conducting compliance demonstration activity including:

• Modification Classification
• Regulatory Requirements and Means of Compliance determination
• Ground and Flight Test plan definition
• Test witnessing
• Design Reviews
• Compliance Demonstration Reporting
• Technical Publication creation
What do I need to do the role?

You’ll need to be qualified to degree level OR HND/HNC in Aeronautical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with extensive industrial experience in a similar role (E.g. Civil/Military Aircraft Technician or Certifying Staff).


What else do I need to know?
• The successful candidate must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role.
