About the role

Here at Babcock International we’re looking to recruit an Avionics Crew Chief B2 LAE.

 

Working closely with the Installations Manager, you’ll ensure that the aircraft modifications are completed on time and on budget.


You’ll be expected to collaborate between crew members, B1.3 Aircraft Engineers, Design Office and Logistics staff to ensure that the installation and maintenance of the allocated aircraft is completed to the highest and most efficient standards for customer satisfaction.  Tool control procedures, EASA Part 145 and Health & Safety legislation are to be adhered to at all times and a high level of work space cleanliness is expected, including compliance with company procedures within an SMS & HSE centric organisation.


Initially you will carry out post training of company procedures, EC135/H135 type rating and currency.  Once gained, you’ll then be expected to certify within their approvals and carry out supervision on the installation and termination of wiring looms and avionic tasks in accordance with approved data and design office drawings.  Daily tasks will consist of electrical wiring, avionic fault finding and rectification incl. system checks/tests, LRU replacements and aircraft strip & rebuild.  There will also be elements of assistance in Mission System component repair including technical and warranty support and assistance to design, MRO and business development functions as necessary.

 

• Once trained and type rated, certification in a Part 145 environment of Rotary Aircraft modifications, to include system set up, testing and rectification.
• Install and terminate aircraft electrical looms to high standard aviation specifications and supervise the same within a team of fitters allocated to the crew.
• Understand and follow electrical engineering drawings and an excellent knowledge of setting up and fault finding avionic and mission systems.
• A high standard of engineering hygiene and bay/crew management.

 

What do I need to do the role?

• EASA Part 66 B2 licence (will consider those with applicable experience and pending application / final module to complete).
• EASA Part 145, Part M, Part 21G and Part 21J working knowledge
• Aircraft electrical/avionic apprenticeship or equivalent training.
• Competent IT Skills, programming knowledge.
• SMS and HF training.

 

What else do I need to know?
• The successful candidate must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role.
