About the role

 

 

This is a senior leadership role reporting to the RSME Contract Manager. The key objective of this role is to manage the lifecycle obligations, optimise the model and manage risk, making recommendations to key stakeholders and decision makers on funding and project requirements. This role will interface primarily with Holdfast, Babcock’s facilities and project works delivery teams and senior Babcock leaders. This is a key role within the Senior Leadership team at RSME.

 

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

 

 

  • To ensure effective and compliant delivery of all lifecycle obligations
  • To make recommendations to optimise the lifecycle model and management of risk
  • To understand and manage delivery of key stakeholder interests
  • The ensure the lifecycle model and operational models are maintained and auditable
  • To draw together data in respect if assets e.g. maintenance, failures and future works etc. in order to inform decisions and recommendations.
  • Managing the condition of the estates including surveys and forward planning
  • Identification and delivery of Lifecycle Projects in accordance with the agreed Lifecycle process
  • Produce and co-ordinate the production of all information and data necessary for the preparation of 5 Year Lifecycle Plans in accordance with the Contract.
  • Make recommendations in respect of prospective lifecycle projects to be included in the next 5 Year lifecycle
  • Prepare thorough, high quality, technical reports in a clear concise manner, communicate any issues and conclusions
  • To support business objectives of delivering value for money
  • To carry out assigned duties efficiently and in accordance with Babcock’s processes and procedures
  • The delivery of Whole Life costing Lifecyle Services includes but not limited to:
  • Provide advice to the business and its stakeholders / customers on service efficiency, value and cost savings opportunities
  • Undertake benchmarking and cost modelling exercises
  • Providing life cycle and whole life costing services
  • Asset assessment and operational cost planning
  • Undertaking operational design review with projects teams
  • The Candidate shall also take an active role in:
  • Manage and develop the Lifecycle and Asset Management team
  • Maintaining and developing positive working relationships with stakeholders
  • Maintaining quality outputs

 

 

What do I need to do the role?

 

Technical Experience and Qualifications:

 

 

  • The suitable candidate is likely to hold a formal qualification within a construction or building services industry at Master’s degree / post graduate diploma level or equivalent. Chartered status within a relevant industrial body would be appropriate.
  • Strong technical delivery experience
  • Project experience, necessitating high levels of technical competence with a strong focus and track record in the delivery of WLC/LC costing
  • Strong IT skills in particular Microsoft Office applications (Particularly Excel and SharePoint)
  • Experience working with management information systems
  • Proven track record of working within a busy customer focused organisation
  • Hold a driving licence suitable for use in the UK

  • Understands the commercial, technical and strategy drivers connected with an effective life cycle planning process
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Good communication skills
  • Understanding of infrastructure condition monitoring and surveying techniques, methodology and implementation.
  • Experience in producing long term financial forecasts for life cycle replacement and other maintenance activity.
  • Have experience of risk management processes and be capable of developing risk registers and implementing mitigation.
  • Ability to successfully manage complex projects in a proactive and diligent manner
  • A team player, outgoing, flexible, enthusiastic and ambitious
  • Track record of working with disparate stakeholders
  • Client facing, ensuring a high standard of technical delivery
  • Able to build long-term relationships
  • A track record of working with teams and managing projects by prioritising workloads and delivering deadlines
  • Effective decision-making and strong verbal and written communication including report writing
  • Ability to network with internal RLB contacts and making appropriate referrals to other areas of the business whenever possible
  • Expertise in technical, analytical and problem solving
  • Ability to work in a team to meet common objectives
  • Good organisational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks and meeting deadlines
