As a Submarine Maintenance Planning Senior Engineer / Senior Naval Architect, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You'll be supporting Submarine through life maintenance management and optimisation. The successful candidate will work closely with relevant Subject Matter Experts across Babcock, the Royal Navy, MoD and Industry Partners. This role provides an exciting opportunity to help shape the support we provide to ensuring safe, capable and available Submarines.
Day to day, you’ll be part of Babcock’s Submarine Support Engineering (SSE) Group (formally SSMG) who are contracted to provide engineering and design services support to the Ministry of Defence, and in particular, the In-service Submarines (ISM) Project Team who form part of the Defence Engineering and Support Organisation.

Essential experience
• You will be degree qualified in a relevant engineering based discipline or HND with significant demonstrable experience.
• You will be an experienced engineer or naval architect with an understanding of platform maintenance, structural surveillance and/or defect rectification.
• You must have good communication and presentation skills and the ability to identify and drive improvement initiatives.
• Experience of submarines is desirable but not essential.
