Job Purpose

 

To provide sourcing support to the Aerospace Business and co-ordinate supply chain support activities. To support bid requirements as required.

Identify business requirements and conducting detailed market analysis to develop suitable options for the business to consider.

 

Key outputs/deliverables will be

 

  • Support the BU Supply Chain Team in the identification of cost savings based on Value plan initiatives
  • Support Supply management activity eg. production of performance reports
  • Undertake detailed spend analysis through the use of existing analytics too
  • Ensure compliance to group deals and input to group category initiatives from conception to mobilisation
  • Following the Babcock sourcing process, develop sourcing strategies to support requirements
  • Identifying business requirement
  • Conducting detailed market analysis
  • Develop strategic options
  • Segmenting spend and conducting detailed analytical analysis.
  • Support to Bids
  • Keeping MRP/ERP system reliability and maintainability reports and records up to date including management of the open order book
  • Providing management information as appropriate to support internal or external meetings and Management Information requests/requirements
  • Suggesting and implementing improvement and simplify methods of working, procedures and systems through continuous improvement activities
  • Support / Attend relevant Management meetings (UK offices)
  • Supporting the Due Diligence process of new and existing vendors in line with company policy
  • Maintaining supplier records and ensuring systems are kept up to date.
  • Other procurement and supply chain tasks as and when required

  • Negotiate and maintain price agreements

Additional Accountabilities

 

  • Provide Management Information
  • Site visits across the Air Business Unit and to key suppliers as required and requested
  • Complete PDR in a timely manner and suggest where training support may be of benefit.
  • Carries out any other appropriate task that may be required from time to time

  • Willingness to travel / Driving licence - The nature of Defence & Security business requires a high degree of flexibility for all staff; there may be a requirement for travel between sites within the UK

Minimum Qualifications/Experience

 

  • MCIPS or working towards
  • 5+ Yrs Procurement Experience
  • Supplier management experience
  • IT Literate and good keyboard skills
  • High excel proficiency
  • Sound knowledge of Procurement and Supply Chain Management processes
