About the role


Working as part of our Defence Systems Technology (DST) business we’re looking for a Security Specialist to join us. DST forms a critical part of Babcock’s Marine organisation. Working across a range of exciting design, manufacture and support projects, our 1,500 strong team operate from a number of sites across the UK and internationally ensuring our global customer portfolio is always supported.


You will act as the main point of contact for the effective management of all day to day Site / Business Unit security and IA related matters ensuring key support functions are delivered in a smart, flexible and holistic manner to ensure all areas within Bristol Business Park continue to operate in a safe and secure manner.

 

You will provide professional support to all business functions across DST on all security matters including (but not limited to) full document management service for all accountable records, clearance and vetting service, travel assistance and travel security advice etc. Ensuring that all security requirements are met by the business and remain compliant with Babcock Policy and other internal requirements as well as all external contractual obligations, legal requirements and policy frameworks.

 

You will also provide a security point of contact to both internal and external stakeholders to enable an open and transparent working relationship focused on resolving issues as they arise.


What do I need to do the role?
You will be a confident and self-motivated individual displaying effective entrepreneurial development techniques, whilst at the same time acting as a key part of the team. You will require strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and maintain relationships at all levels.

 

You will also require:

• A thorough working knowledge of all aspects of the Security Policy Framework and JSP 440.
• Well developed IT skills.
• Good practical understanding of the general requirements necessary to maintain compliance with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
• Good knowledge of security risk management practices and the identification, implementation and monitoring of current risk mitigation techniques and processes.

 

Qualifications

• Qualified to Degree level or equivalent in a related subject.
• ISO27001 Auditor / Implementer.
