About the role

Here at Babcock International we’re looking to recruit an SSIS ETL Developer (Aviation).

 

The Aviation Hub is the Aviation Sector’s primary focal point for contract monitoring, planning, IS integration and an ‘Information Showcase’ to the customer.  It is the function of The Hub to deliver high quality business support, information analysis and information visualisation for all areas of Aviation.

 

We are seeking a business intelligence developer who can implement SSIS and SQL based ETL solutions from disparate and complex data sources.

 

• Design, build and deploy effective SSIS packages
• Implement stored procedures and effectively query a database
• Translate requirements from the business and analyst into technical code
• Identify and test for bugs and bottlenecks in the ETL solution
• Ensure the best possible performance and quality in the packages
• Provide support and fix issues in the packages
• Liaise with application support specialists and database developers to fully understand data sources

 

What do I need to do the role?

 

You’ll need to hold the following:
• Writes advanced SQL including some query tuning
• Experience in the identification of data quality
• Experience designing and building complete ETL/SSIS processes
• moving and transforming data for ODS, Staging, and Data Warehousing
• Some Knowledge of C#/VB.NET a plus
• Utilize ad-hoc techniques to perform on-the-fly analysis of data
• Proficient in how to debug a production SSIS environment
• Knowledge of MS Power BI is beneficial
• Knowledge of dimensional warehouses – the Kimball approach

 

What else do I need to know?
• The successful candidate must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role.
