The Project Manager role is based within Mission Systems.

The role


The difference our new Project manager will make

As a Project Manager you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll also play a key role in growing our contracts and building strong customer relationships, implementing our ambitious strategy. You’ll drive growth and the role will bring bags of responsibility and the opportunity to work at the heart of delivering support to the Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers and Type 45 Destroyers.


Day to day, you’ll be managing the delivery of the Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers and the new Type 45 Destroyers.

Essential experience


  • Project/Programme management of a portfolio of complex systems and equipment engineering activities ensuring that the delivery teams understand cost, time and quality requirements and remain coordinated in their approach to delivering agreed scope of work. Ensuring that the project team are working to a consistent high standard and customer and business stakeholders and kept informed throughout.


  • Risk management - coordination of risk identification, assessment and management, and ensuring that risk management processes are followed across all work packages and contracts.


  • Engineering Programme Management – Supporting the PMO Lead and Business Managers to identify, plan and deliver the engineering activities.


  • Schedule Management – Development and maintenance of contract specific schedules in order to support business-wide resource management.


  • Financial Forecasting – Governance, cost control and forecasting of work packages through regular reviews
