The Lead Solution Architect - RF Communications role is based within our Mission Systems business area.

As a Lead Solution Architect - RF Communications, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. As our company grows, we want to help and learn from each other in a supportive and relaxed environment with the main aim of delivering high quality products. You will work collaboratively in a team of multi discipline engineers, subject matter experts and the customer to create, mature and develop solutions for our current and future clients.  You will use your knowledge to define innovative solutions through the design, build, integration, transition, and acceptance phases.


Day to day, you’ll be accountable for the creation of compliant and cohesive solutions, system architectures and product design, working together with the System Engineering Manager, Chief Architect and Chief Engineer. You’ll provide in-depth technical expertise and thought leadership, collaborating with other SMEs; lead technical interactions with suppliers in conjunction with Supply Chain and contribute to technical interactions with the customer and Front-Line Commands. You’ll also lead Requirements management, justification, and decomposition as well as manage interfaces and trade-offs between systems, sub systems and functions.

Essential experience


•    Pro-active Solution Designer with a significant communications engineering background.
•    A proven track record of delivering complex communications system architectures.
•    Engineering expertise across the engineering lifecycle V-Model or equivalent from initial concepts, requirements, design, implementation, integration, verification, validation, maintenance and supportability.
•    Demonstrable HF system and solution design and delivery experience
•    Data and Audio switching, MOD JSP604, Security by Design, WAN/LAN, VMWare
•    RF transmission & reception systems, antennas & RF distribution
•    Software & Hardware integration experience
