Assistant Inventory Manager

About the role
Here at Babcock International we’re looking to recruit a Junior Inventory Manager working within Defence Systems Technology (DST), Bristol.  DST is a business unit in the Marine & Technology Division of Babcock International Group. 
You will receive customer orders, challenge and satisfy customer demands in execution of the Strategic Business Objectives.


Principal Tasks & Responsibilities will include:
• Customer Order Book management and maintenance (including revised Delivery Forecasts)
• Update MoD systems (MJDI/CRISP) with DFs
• Operate in a safe manner and ensure that the required quality standards are maintained.
• Raise manual Customer Orders for Purchase Order demands
• Responsible for achieving availability, performance, savings and targets relating to inventory availability and demand satisfaction.
• To ensure inventory is available I.A.W. agreed supply plans, ensuring that inventory levels / budget are maintained within agreed boundaries.
• Identify potential stock shortages and prioritise orders and deliveries with suppliers to prevent an out of stock situation.
• dates, by value / qty, project etc, and subsequently make recommendations.
• Support new product introductions, product reviews, supplier transactions, implementation of print on demand and kitting projects as required.
• To liaise with the Logistics provider, MoD Agencies, RN Stores or End User Demanders, as appropriate, in the supply of materials or equipment in a timely and effective manner.
• Expediting repairs and delivery of assets with supporting documentation in support of operational demands.
• To liaise with the Logistics provider, MOD Commodity Managers, MoD Agencies in the supply of materials and equipment which are identified as NON MAG / LOW MAG deliveries in a timely manner without compromising these items.

What do I need to do the role?
You will need to be experienced in inventory management with a thorough knowledge of systems and processes relating to inventory management and material control.

You will also require knowledge of MoD materials systems (CRISP, etc) and JSP 886.


What else do I need to know?
• The successful candidate must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role.
