About the role

 

Here at Babcock International we have an opportunity for an IT Security Officer to join our Security function within Babcock Corporate Services. Reporting to the Lead ITSO and you will ensure all IT Security policy and process is applied across the Bristol site. The Bristol site works mostly as part of Babcock’s Defence Systems Technology area, which is growing with lots of exciting projects.

 

Your role will also include;

•    Providing IT security support to business functions for IT infrastructure and standalone environments;
•    Working with local teams and support the business in ensuring IT Security / SAL / Trade controls contractual requirements are met;
•    Acting as the local interface / escalation point of contact for customers and key stakeholders (internal & external) regarding IT Security matters;
•    Raising, investigating and managing IT security incidents ensuring any necessary follow up actions;
•    Provide IT security support to risk owners including SIRO, IAOs etc.
•    Establishing and maintain beneficial and effective customer relationships as well as providing timely and effective communications;


What do I need to do the role?

 

You will have relevant hands on IT security experience as either an officer or analyst looking to take the next step with a good understanding of Data Protection and Trade controls.

 

We would also like you to have proven relevant experience in working with and developing HMG accredited environments and risk assessments, and it is preferred if you have an understanding of SPF, JSP440 and other Industry and MoD best practice publications and other business partner’s processes. (but not essential)

 

Lastly you will hold the ability to lead, motivate and inspire the team to success, be able to command the respect of the business and communication at all levels and take accountability, owning and delivering improvement whilst putting the customer / accreditors as the centre of focus and works to understand and deliver on behalf of the customer.


What else do I need to know?

 

•    All applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK and be subject to satisfactory security clearance which includes 3 years reference checks. Verification of any qualifications/passport/licences must be shown at interview stage. 
•    Be happy to undertake SC vetting with suitable criteria and willingness for DV clearance
•    We are happy to talk about flexible working.  Please ask about alternative patterns of work at interview
•    Have the ability to travel between sites where necessary
