The role

 

The difference our new Defect Reports and Management Engineer will make
As a Defect Reports and Management Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Keeping on top of equipment failures is critical to delivery of an optimal support solution for the T31; analysis and sentencing of defect reports provides critical information to the ILS team and MOD customer. 

 

Day to day, you’ll receive defect reports from Supply Chain, Engineers and Commissioning teams on supplied and fitted equipment and systems; conduct analysis and sentencing of defects to establish trends and impact on programme; maintain DRACAS system and provide reports to Head of Supportability as required.

Essential experience

•    Experience in ILS and understanding and awareness of Defect Reporting and Analysis procedures to support the maintenance of a capability.
•    Sound understanding of ILS Defence Standards (00-600, 00-44, and 00-45).
•    Ability to work in a complex, multi-discipline team.
•    Strong written communication skills; the delivery of well structured, unambiguous technical documentation and reports.
•    Strong verbal communication skills;
•    Sound understanding of ship systems and equipment.
•    You will need to satisfy security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving ‘Security Check’ (SC) clearance.
