The Role
As a Senior Project Accountant you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Babcock supports Translink and other rail industry customers in providing a safe, reliable and efficient rail network across Great Britain.
Day to day, you’ll provide support to Framework Managers and Project delivery teams for the management and delivery of the financial performance of the Translink business including ensuring all budgetary planning and reporting processes are in line with company requirements through production of accurate and timely project financial information.
• Maintain compliance with financial controls and corporate governance and look to maximise efficiency of processes and reporting through continuous improvement.
• Work with the Senior Finance Manager, Framework Managers, Project Teams, Operations, and Commercial teams in improving and maintaining the processes used to operate, challenge and control project financial performance.
• Ensure adherence to cost and income collection processes in line with company contract management and financial procedures.
• Responsible for the timely and accurate recording, preparation and presentation of project financial information for the Framework in a professional and timeous manner including a robust analysis of costs.
Essential experience of the Senior Project Accountant:
• Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA etc.) / or equivalent or significant experience in a similar role.
• Project accounting experience with experience of detailed costing analysis.
• Strong business / process analysis skills.
• Excellent influencing and communication skills at all levels.
• Ideally, experience in engineering or construction industry.
This is a full time role, that allows for hybrid working.
