Contractors Engineering Manager

About the role

 

Here at Babcock International, we’re looking to recruit a Contractors Engineering Manager to provide independent Technical and Professional expertise to the Professional Head of Design and Engineering Compliance.

 

You will lead the initiatives to manage compliance to Network Rail Standards and the competency of the staff working for the Project/s and provide a formal link to Network Rail to allow Technical and Engineering issues to be discussed and disseminated.

 

Further responsibilities include;
• Liaise with the client’s representatives and Babcock Rail’s Professional Heads as required over technical issues.
• Carry out technical instruction and briefings in the depots.
• Provide direction and assistance in the mentoring and instruction of all technical staff in the correct methods of carrying out their duties.
• Independently monitor technical compliance on contracted works to ensuring that the documentation as required by the Client is correctly completed, accurate and delivered to the client within the required timescales.
• Ensure all technical aspects of works comply with group and line standards and contractual specifications.

 

This is an excellent opportunity to work on multiple Framework and alliances within Network rail and Translink.

 

What do I need to do the role?

 

You will have previously worked in the Rail industry and held a similar role ensuring compliance to rail contracts and Network rail standard.

 

You will have knowledge of Permanent Way and ideally Network Rail Group and Line Standards.

 

You will also have experience in the Railway Track Maintenance or Renewals industry.

 

What else do I need to know?

 

You will be required, on occasion to travel to sites across Northern Ireland and possible overnight stays in Scotland.
