Who we are looking for?

We are looking for a Licensed Aircraft Engineer to ensure aircraft engineering, line and depth maintenance and all other engineering related activities and services are provided as required to meet and exceed customer expectations and LAFT2 contractual needs at all times.  

What will you be doing?

You'll report to the Site Operations Manager, who is part of an established regional leadership team, led by a Regional Operations Manager. You'll be responsible, alongside a team of mechanical and avionic LAE’s for the generation and release to service of serviceable and safe aircraft in accordance with civilian legislation/regulation and in line with Babcock company approvals. Today we have an established team of 9 people across multiple trade disciplines at St Athan working together in collaboration with our customer to provide aircraft to be used in elementary flying training and air experience flights alongside auxiliary support services such as Survival Equipment and Mechanical Transport. You will help to drive the delivery of the flying activities at St Athan alongside your Babcock and Military colleagues by taking a ‘Whole Force’ approach to our activities and ensuring that Babcock’s excellent safety and delivery reputation is maintained at all times. 


The experience you’ll bring

•    CAA B.1 Licence 

•    Analytical and problem solving skills in an engineering environment
•    Proven leadership ability to lead a team of technicians and inspectors during maintenance activities
•    Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with staff and customers when required


You must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role.
