The role
As a Driver you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Carrying out detailed monthly checks of the vehicle fleet, reporting all defects to the transport control office.


Day-to-day, you’ll Drive a range of vehicles from Cars, 4x4 vehicles, Minibuses, Coaches and Trucks as per licence held, and prepping the fleet for graduation day, as well as:

  • Transport phase one recruits and other station personnel.
  • Interact with both internal and external stakeholders.

 

This role is full time and based onsite at RAF Halton. The roster is made up of earlies 06:00-13:30 Mon-Fri, Lates 13:00-20:30 Mon-Fri, Days 08:00-17:00 Mon-Thurs and 08:00-16:00 Fri. Days 07:30-16:30 Mon-Thurs and 07:30-15:30 Fri. One weekend duty every eight weeks, 06:30-18:30, the appropriate days off will be given during the week to avoid working seven days in that week. On average, approx. 39 hours a week is worked. However, individuals must be flexible and can expect changes to their roster to meet customers expectancy’s.

 

Essential experience of the Driver:

  • Experience of driving multiple vehicles
  • Basic IT skills


Qualifications for the Driver:

  • CAT B, provisional CAT D Licenses
  • Passenger Carrying Vehicles (PCV) DVLA Licence category D and Large Goods Vehicles (LGV) DVLA Licence Category C Licenses
  • Digital tachograph card, with sound knowledge of Driver's Hours Regulation in accordance with EU Directive 561/2006


Security Clearance

  • The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain SC security clearance for this role.
