Configuration Manager

About the role

Reporting to the Technical Authority Manager, the Configuration Manager is a part of the Centre of Engineering Team based on the Naval Base in Devonport. With a strong team of technical staff as support, the key responsibilities are as follows:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage strategies, plans, processes and procedures to maintain vessel technical datasets, operational software and configuration databases.
  • Manage business relationships to ensure company-wide achievement of objectives and targets
  • Management of Configuration, Publications, and Configuration Information Services Teams to support engineering outputs
  • Develop and manage new configuration management and technical publications business opportunities
  • Provide for health, safety and environmental (HSE) compliance within areas of responsibility


About you

You will have and Engineering Degree and/or relevant experience in a similar position. You are experienced in the management of configuration, technical writing and technical information services. Ideally you will have knowledge and working experience of military systems and naval vessels, however this is not essential.

You have a proven track record of delivering and managing business unit performance improvements and the ability to drive change. You are flexible and innovative in your approach in order to successfully meet challenges.
