Babcock is looking for a Commercial Officer to join the team based in Devonport, Auckland.

 

About the role

 

Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Officer and play a pivotal role in supporting the strategic and operational success of the Programme. You’ll be instrumental in partnering with the Marine Business Unit and broader commercial functions to safeguard the company’s interests. Your work will ensure our commercial obligations are met, risks are minimised, and that we uphold the highest standards of compliance and governance. As a Commercial Officer, you will work closely with the Commercial Manager to oversee contract execution, compliance, and change management. You’ll be the go-to person for internal stakeholders and external partners, ensuring clear communication and efficient management of contractual obligations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on complexity and is passionate about delivering high-quality business outcomes. About you

 

You are a detail-oriented professional with a passion for contract management and risk mitigation. With at least five years of experience in commercial or defence environments, you excel at navigating complex contractual landscapes. Your ability to manage multiple priorities, communicate effectively, and maintain high standards of accuracy sets you apart. You thrive in dynamic environments, are adept at fostering stakeholder relationships, and have a strong grasp of legal and contracting principles. You’re ready to contribute your expertise to a fast-paced, high-impact team.

Key Required Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Contract Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in contract management, procurement, or a related field, preferably within a defence or corporate environment.
