Asset Engineer L1

About the role

Reporting to the SRAP Project Manager, your new role as the Systems Risk Assessment Project (SRAP) Asset Engineer will be based within the Centre of Engineering, on the Naval Base in Devonport. You will be focussed on supporting system reviews to deliver an accurate and detailed system / equipment assessment and risk management plan as an output of the SRA Project.


Key responsibilities will include:

  • System Reviews - Data collection and analysis, assist with system review workshops, provide advice on effectiveness and requirements for maintenance activities to mitigate asset risks. Identify discrepancies of reduced equipment reliability and reporting on such matters.


  • Outputs Management – Support in tracking activity, resolving problems and reporting, along with providing input into decision making and problem solving. Identify and action efficiency and improvement opportunities and provide evidential recommendations to support the project delivery.


  • Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance – Comply with all requirement of the company SHE manual, actively promoting an H&S culture of achieving targets with no lost time injuries or environmental discharges.


About you

You will have a relevant Engineering Degree or equivalent and have sound analytical and technical report writing skills.  Ideally you will have previous asset management experience and knowledge of data analytics, maintenance and repair methodologies. The work is primarily with the RNZN and any experience or knowledge working in this area will be highly regarded.
