About the Role
 

This position forms part of our Technical Services team, which focusses on the sustainment of the ADF GSE (Australian Defence Force Ground Support Equipment) fleets and is responsible for maintaining technical integrity, maintenance regimes, parts and publications. This role will be required to provide support across a broad range of technical services to assist the ADF GSE Service Desk. Responsibilities could include:
 

  • Responsible for providing on-going technical support to ensure the smooth operation of the ADF GSE service desk by ensuring enquiries from customers, external maintenance providers and suppliers are addressed promptly and effectively.
  • Support the current Fleet Manager (Senior Technical Officer) with the Deployable Hard Shelters (specialist ICT facilities) including assisting with integration of tactical mission systems and support equipment.
  • Monitor and audit the maintenance for ADF GSE assets conducted by external maintenance providers of both new and pre-existing Commonwealth contracts.
  • Create and maintain accurate ADF GSE fleet maintenance planning data to be loaded into both Babcock and ADF systems.
  • Build and maintain relationships with OEMs, suppliers and repairers within the Babcock technical support network, Defence operating units, and other Commonwealth contractors.
     

About you
 

As a Technical Support Officer, you will be a detailed focused individual who has a drive to deliver a high standard of customer satisfaction. You pride yourself on your ability to use initiative and prioritise your workload. You have excellent communications skills, thrive in a complex environment and preferably possess the following:
 

  • Certificate III (or above) in Information Technology (Networking) or related fields.
  • Australian citizenship, and ability to obtain and maintain an NV1 security clearance.
  • Competent in MS office suite of applications.
  • Understanding of Deployable Portable Cabins used in Defence or similar equipment.
  • Experience in the field of Information & Communication Technology (ICT).
