About the Role
 

The Technical Support Officer is responsible for supporting the Technical Officers to deliver engineering and maintenance activities for Counter- Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive (C-CBRNE) assets and associated repairable items on the behalf of the Australian Defence Force (ADF). The role will see you provide subject matter expertise across a broad range of technical services, to support the on-call Service Desk and to support the Technical Officers in the delivery of services. Responsibilities may include:
 

  • Conduct support activities for the C-CBRNE Service Desk function to ensure enquiries from customers, external maintenance providers and suppliers are addressed promptly and effectively.
  • Monitor and audit the maintenance for C-CBRNE assets conducted by external maintenance providers of both new and pre-existing Commonwealth contracts.
  • Create and maintain accurate C-CBRNE fleet maintenance planning data to be loaded into both Babcock and ADF systems.
  • Be responsible for the delivery of Engineering and Maintenance Services.
  • Manage relationships with contracted Maintenance and Service providers, operating units, Joint Logistics Command (JLC) and other Commonwealth Contractors as required.
     

About you

You will be detailed focused and will pride yourself on your ability to build strong working relationships with various stakeholders. You will demonstrate you can make a positive contribution to the high performing technical team and will possess the following:
 

  • Studies towards or completion of Certificate III (or above) in a relevant discipline (electronics, electrical, mechanical engineering).
  • Completion of or the ability to undertake Defence Maintenance Management courses.
  • Understanding of Maintenance Requirements and Logistics Support Analysis.
  • Australian Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain an NV1 security clearance.
  • Understanding of Engineering Instructions and amendment procedures.
  • Experience in a Technical Assessing role.
