Systems Engineer

About the role

Reporting into the Program Engineering Manager, you will hold responsibility for technical leadership and support within an integrated team to ensure the successful adoption of systems engineering processes and activities within our Land Defence portfolios. As an integral member of our engineering team, you will act as a mentor to our next generation of engineering talent and provide support in strategic business development pursuits.

Key responsibilities include:


  • Analyse, assess and recommend technical solutions across all phases of asset lifecycle;
  • Establish needs, requirements and specifications for new fleet equipment acquisitions and business requirements;
  • Develop, review and approve system engineering deliverables providing technical data, verification and validation plans, operational testing and evaluation reports, maintenance instructions and all related contract technical deliverables;
  • Support business development activities by providing technical insight to define scopes of work, analyse project requirements, systems design needs, solution analysis and verification/validation;
  • Provide technical input to support asset life cycle strategic modelling;
  • Provide leadership, guidance and mentorship to Engineers across our engineering programs.

Ideally you will have:

  • A relevant Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or equivalent),
  • Engineers Australia chartered status, or evidence of working towards recognition;
  • Demonstrated Diverse Systems engineering experience;
  • Proven experience defining stakeholder requirements and developing technical documentation;
  • Experience executing multiple complex stakeholder engagements across asset lifecycles;
  • Demonstrate experience in leading and developing technical teams through complex scenarios;
  • Defence industry experience is desirable;
  • Australian Citizenship.
