About the role
Reporting to the Program Engineering Manager, you will apply your originality and creativity towards the delivery of a complex project within our defence engineering portfolio. As an integral member of our engineering team, you will act as the technical authority for the design, sustainment and operational activities within the project you manage.
Key responsibilities include:


  • Identifying and coordinating technical activities required to drive progress towards the design and implementation of appropriate solutions on the project;
  • Utilising your understanding of design, analysis and manufacturing to understand how technology can interface with specific equipment;
  • Preparing and presenting information to various stakeholder groups on a periodic basis;
  • Supporting the technical, and personal development of members within your team;
  • Exercising judgement to make critical decisions throughout the project lifecycle in compliance with statutory regulations associated with design, supply and support of equipment;
  • Identifying the scope, budget and timescales associated with tasks required to deliver against the project.



Ideally you will have

The successful candidate will thrive working independently and enjoy exercising judgement when making key technical decisions on said project. Ideally you will have:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or equivalent), preferably with a chartered engineer status;
  • Extensive engineering experience, ideally within marine, the ADF or defence industry;
  • Proven experience defining stakeholder requirements and developing project documentation;
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems, Teamcenter, MathCAD, and NX software packages;
  • Experience managing relationships internally and developing capability within junior members of the engineering team; and
  • Prior experience in managing client relationships.
