About the Role

The Purchasing Officer will facilitate the purchasing of goods and services according to specified quantity, quality and cost requirements, to ensure performance and compliance with company and customer requirements within our C-CBRNE (Counter- Chemical Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive) contract. Responsibilities could include:

 

  • Preparation and release of purchase orders in Babcock’s ERP system and/or the client’s ERP system.
  • Support the on-time delivery of orders from suppliers, ensuring their performance is as per contractual requirements and benchmark standards.
  • Support the timely input of requests into the existing data system and adequate follow-up of outstanding/overdue orders.
  • Identify and effectively respond to corrective actions non –conformances and opportunities for improvement.
  • Review and update of business processes to support continuous improvement strategies and the effectiveness of the inventory/purchasing processes.
     

About you

With extensive experience in a logistics environment and a passion for the Defence industry, you will have a positive can-do attitude and thrive in a complex environment. You pride yourself on your ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with multiple stakeholders. You drive a culture of continuous improvement and possess the following:

 

  • Extensive experience in a Supply Chain/Logistics environment preferably within the Defence sector.  
  • Computer literate and skilled in the use of MS Office software (Word, Excel, etc) and ERP systems.
  • Experience in inventory management.
  • Australian Citizenship with the ability to obtain NV1 security clearance.
