About the Role

As we enter a period of significant organisational growth, we are seeking an ILS Manager to join our growing defence portfolio to support the mobilisation of a new program for our Australian operations. Reporting into the Program Engineering Manager, you will hold responsibility for making ILS technical decisions for the program, and support the development of the support systems solution. Key responsibilities include:


  • Handling the ILS aspects of the mission system design including identifying and coordinating technical activities, and delivery of artefacts;
  • Preparing and maintaining the configuration management and data management plans for the program;
  • Supporting the development and review of ILS engineering processes and procedures for the program; and
  • Preparing and presenting at formal reviews with internal stakeholders and the customer and facilitate detailed technical discussions with the internal and external stakeholders.


About You

The successful candidate will have prior experience in managing ILS capability, preferably within a large, matrixed organisation and ideally possess the following:


  • Good understanding of design, analysis, and support techniques associated with ILS and awareness of the techniques and technologies that need to be applied;
  • Excellent understanding of ILS analysis techniques; and
  • Formal qualifications in Engineering, preferably with Chartered status.


Babcock welcomes applications from candidates with all backgrounds, and experiences, however, due to the defence orientation of the role, the successful candidate must be eligible to obtain a Baseline Security Clearance, as defined by the AGSVA guidelines
