The role
As a Mobile Crane Operator, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will work in Western Europe’s largest Dockyard, being involved in some of Babcock’s most exciting projects. 

 

Day-to-day, you’ll set and check the functioning of the rated capacity limiter and rated capacity indicator.

  • Work to manufacturer’s instructions. 
  • Adhere to road traffic regulations.
  • Ensure PPE is worn at all appropriate times.
  • Conversant with the correct use of outriggers. 

 

This position involves working at height. Candidates must be able to work safely and perform tasks at varying heights.

 

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site in Plymouth.

 

Essential experience of the Mobile Crane Operator:

  • Previous experience operating mobile cranes.
  • Knowledge of the effects of wind and other climatic conditions on the crane and load.
  • Display safe working practices.

 

Qualifications for the Mobile Crane Operator:

  • Full Drivers Licence.
  • HGV Class C Licence.
  • In date Blue CPCS card with Mobile Crane Operator authorisation.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
